Every morning - my girlfriend wakes up several hours before me, and leaves for work. And every day without fail, she will wake me up, and kiss me goodbye. I’d never really understood this behavior - especially when she goes thru so much effort not to wake me up in the mornings. She takes her clothes out of the room, she sets up all her stuff the night before outside the bedroom, so that she doesn’t have to go back and forth etc. One day it came up in jest - this waking me up every morning thing, and she said (I’m paraphrasing) “Who knows what’s going to happen today… what would you want your last interaction with me to be?”
